Join us for an engaging and interactive discussion presented by Sharon Zimbler, LMFT, Chief Executive Officer of Montecatini Eating Disorder Treatment Center. This virtual continuing education event will explore the various implications of, and treatment modalities for, co-occurring eating disorders and substance use disorders

Up to 50% of individuals with eating disorders have abused alcohol or illicit drugs, a rate that is five times higher than the general population. As the prevalence between eating disorders and substance abuse continues to increase, best practices for the treatment of co-occurring disorders. In this presentation, we will take a deep dive into the bio-psycho-social characteristics of eating disorders and substance use disorders, examine the similarities between the two, and discuss treatment modalities that are used.
