Serving Our Nation’s Heroes & Their Loved Ones
The Acadia Healthcare Service Resiliency Unit (SRU) is proud to be a valued resource for the brave professionals who protect our nation. Whether your goal is to return to duty, achieve mission readiness, or continue your path toward recovery, your SRU liaison will support you throughout every stage of the process.
The SRU team identifies appropriate treatment options for active-duty military members, veterans, first responders, and dependents who are struggling with substance use disorders and mental health concerns. We connect individuals with premier facilities throughout the United States, all of which have been thoroughly vetted to ensure that they provide culturally competent, quality care in a safe and supportive environment.
Services Offered by the SRU Team
When individuals who have dedicated their lives to protecting and serving others need behavioral healthcare services, the SRU team provides support and guidance every step of the way — before, during, and after treatment.
Referral Coordination
We work closely with military installations, Veterans Affairs (VA) partners, and first responder agencies to coordinate care and support access to appropriate treatment. This includes collaborating with Military Treatment Facility (MTF) teams and case managers, assisting veterans in navigating the VA process, and partnering with agency leadership and clinicians to align on care needs.
Our process involves working directly with individuals, families, and referring partners to gather necessary clinical information, review coverage options, identify appropriate treatment settings, and coordinate a smooth transition to care.
Streamlined Admission
Once we have identified appropriate placement, the SRU team will assist in securing authorization for treatment, completing any required paperwork, and providing scheduling or logistical support as needed.
Ongoing Support
Throughout your time in treatment, the SRU liaison’s ongoing support services may include continuously monitoring your progress, coordinating with the facility, and ensuring that there is effective communication between your treatment team, the MTF, or other authorized parties.
Aftercare Transition
As discharge approaches, the SRU liaison coordinates closely with the treatment team, as well as with the VA, MTF teams, first responder agencies, and/or family members as appropriate. We work collaboratively to plan for next steps, ensuring continuity of care and alignment with Department of Defense guidelines. This includes supporting a safe return home or coordinating a transition to the next level of care.
