What Makes Acadia Different?

Acadia Healthcare is a unique organization that provides significant benefits to individuals and families who have been impacted by a variety of mental and behavioral health challenges. The difference between Acadia and other behavioral healthcare providers is the result of a combination of features, including the size of our network, the scope of our services, our ability to treat a wide range of individuals, and our unwavering commitment to excellence in all we do.

Our Size

The Acadia Healthcare network includes 227 locations in the United States and Puerto Rico. Our U.S. presence includes more than 9,900 inpatient and residential treatment beds in 40 states and Puerto Rico. We employ thousands of treatment professionals and, on a typical day, Acadia facilities provide inpatient and outpatient care to more than 70,000 children, adolescents, and adults.

The hallmark of treatment at Acadia facilities is our unwavering commitment to focused, personalized care. Our ability to meet the unique needs of each person who seeks help at one of our facilities is significantly enhanced by the size of our network and the depth and breadth of the services that we provide.

Each professional who is employed by Acadia Healthcare is connected with an international network of other experts. Working together, we can identify trends, develop best practices, share insights, and otherwise collaborate in a manner that leverages the size of our organization to best serve individuals and families throughout the United States.

Scope of Services

The Acadia network offers a comprehensive array of treatment services, including a full continuum of care for individuals whose lives have been disrupted by mental health challenges, behavioral health concerns, and chemical dependency.

Facilities within the Acadia network offer treatment at the acute inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and traditional outpatient levels. The Acadia network also includes programs that offer various forms of detoxification services, as well as outpatient medication-assisted treatment (MAT).

At each level of care, individuals receive personalized treatment plans that include a wide range of therapeutic services. The ability of our network to offer comprehensive, individualized treatment at multiple levels of care means that each person who seeks professional assistance from us will receive the focused services that best meet their unique needs.

Care for All Populations

Facilities within the Acadia network offer multiple treatment options for individuals in all age groups. Our focused, age-appropriate services include specialized programs and treatment tracks for children as young as age five, younger adolescents, older adolescents, young adults, adults, and seniors.

Our network includes facilities that provide customized care for individuals who have been struggling with substance abuse and addiction, mental illness, developmental disorders, behavioral challenges, and acute psychiatric conditions. Many of our locations offer care for individuals who have been struggling with multiple conditions.

Facilities within our network offer specialized groups, treatment tracks, and programming options for various populations, including trauma survivors; first responders; members of the LGBTQ+ community; military members, veterans, and retirees; Native Americans; and individuals who wish to have the principles of their Christian faith incorporated into treatment.

Acadia facilities are diverse, accepting, and highly supportive environments, where all individuals are welcomed, and where each person can expect to receive the highest quality of care, provided with the utmost dignity and respect.

Accreditations & Affiliations

In addition to meeting all local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, facilities in the Acadia network also earn accreditations from respected independent organizations such as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and The Joint Commission. Earning accreditation demonstrates that Acadia facilities are committed to maintaining the highest standards for operational effectiveness and superior customer service.

The effort to ensure consistent excellence involves dedicated efforts by our facility-level personnel, working in collaboration with the members of our corporate-level compliance team. This work is complemented by affiliations with multiple professional organizations and private entities, such as The Jason Foundation, which is working to end the silent epidemic of youth suicide.

Working together at the local and national levels with government agencies, independent accreditors, and private organizations, Acadia Healthcare is proud to play a leading role in advancing and demonstrating the highest professional standards.

Financial Considerations

Worries about paying for treatment unfortunately prevent many people from seeking the professional care that can dramatically improve their lives. The Acadia network provides options for individuals across the economic spectrum.

Many facilities within the Acadia network accept individuals who will be using insurance to pay for their care. Acadia facilities that accept insurance can coordinate directly with the payor to verify coverage and provide all necessary information so the individual can access their benefits. Many Acadia facilities are in-network with several insurance providers, and our facilities may also be able to provide care on an out-of-network basis as well.

The Acadia network also includes facilities that accept Medicare, Medicaid, and other forms of publicly funded insurance. As with individuals who are using private insurance, facilities that accept publicly funded plans can work with the individual and the payor to make the process as efficient and effective as possible.
