Serving Our Nation’s Heroes & Their Loved Ones

The Acadia Healthcare Service Resiliency Unit (SRU) team is proud to be a valued resource for the brave professionals who protect our nation. Our program identifies appropriate treatment options for active-duty military members, veterans, and dependents who are struggling with substance use disorders and mental health concerns. We refer to premier facilities throughout the United States, all of which have been thoroughly vetted to ensure that they provide the highest quality of care in a safe and supportive environment.

Services Offered by the SRU Team

When a member of the military community needs professional care for a mental health disorder or behavioral health concern, the SRU team is prepared to provide significant guidance and substantial support before, during, and after the person’s time in treatment.

Referral Coordination

Our centralized referral process includes working directly with patients and families, collecting all necessary clinical documentation, verifying insurance coverage, reviewing appropriate treatment providers, and preparing for a successful admission.

Streamlined Admission

Once we’ve identified the optimal placement for the patient, the SRU team will secure authorization for treatment, gather consents for admission, complete any required paperwork, and provide scheduling or logistical support as needed.

Ongoing Support

Throughout a person’s time in treatment, the SRU liaison’s ongoing support services may include continuing to monitor their progress, coordinating with the facility, and ensuring effective communication between their treatment team and their family.

Aftercare Transition

As the discharge date approaches, the SRU liaison will remain in contact with the patient, their family, the treatment team, and other professionals as necessary to support either a successful return home or a seamless transition to the next level of care.
